Hello and welcome to Middle River Farms! We are located in the heart of the scenic Shenandoah Valley, between Weyers Cave and Grottoes, just five minutes from Interstate 81. We look forward to you stopping by.

What We Do

The goal of our family is to produce high quality locally grown strawberries for you and your family. We concentrate our efforts toward the “pick your own” market, but with a day or two of advance notice we can provide pre-picked strawberries for those customers who prefer not to “pick their own”. We strive to present a fun and family oriented farm experience. We welcome strawberry pickers of all ages.

In addition to strawberries, we also grow pumpkins, indian corn, corn shocks, straw bales etc. for all your fall decorating needs. Thanks to all those who came and picked pumpkins last year making our first pumpkin year a smashing success.

We also will set up a fall display at your place of business or residence! Please contact us for further information about this service.

2011 Pumpkin Season

This year we have over 30 kinds of pumpkins to choose from! We will again have the all you can fit in a wagon for $25.00 deal for u-pick pumpkins and gourds. We also have straw, corn shocks, indian corn, mums and other fall goodies. In addition to u-pick, we will have available a selection of pumpkins and gourds in the barn for those who prefer not to "pick their own".

We plan to open for the season around Sept. 23. Please feel free to contact us for updates or to schedule special events.  

New for 2011/2012

We are happy to announce that we are now taking orders for beef. We are grass feeding the cattle and will put a bit of grain finish on them this winter. The cattle are hormone and implant free. We expect to have beef ready in mid to late January 2012. Please contact us for booking and further information. Supplies are limited.

2012 Strawberry Season Information

We are currently in the process of planting the berry plants for the 2012 season. If all goes as planed, we hope to finish planting by Sept 23. We are once again planting the Chandler variety in similar quantities as previous years.

A big thank you to all who came out and picked with us in 2011!

Prices: U-Pick $1.79 per pound / Pre-Picked $2.79 per pound. (Please call a day or two in advance to order pre-picked berries) 

Additional Items: In interest of supporting the "buy fresh buy local" concept, this year we will have for sale during berry season locally produced items to include pastured chicken eggs, a small selection of veggies etc. If there are items you would like to see us have on hand please let us know.  

Hours of Operation:  We are open for business from 7:30 am – until picked out, Monday through Saturday during Strawberry Season. The only change to the hours of operation will be if an extra day of ripening is needed.
